• The Jungle Book was the last animated movie that Walt Disney personally supervised before his death in December 1966. It was released on October 1967.
• Walt Disney Studios offered The Beatles a cameo role for The Jungle Book. They were asked to voice the vultures, but John Lennon rejected the offer.
• In The Nightmare Before Christmas, a minute of a scene required an entire week of filming, and around more than 400 model heads of Jack Skellington were used throughout the film.
• The character Wall-E from the movie of the same was named after Walt Disney, whose real first name is Walter Elias.

Facts about Disney Theme Parks

• Disneyland, California, was built in the early 1950s and opened in 1955. Walt built a personal apartment for his family on the park’s Main Street. A lamp in the window served as a signal for staff members to know that Walt is inside the room, and since his death in 1966, this lamp has never been turned off to honor him.
• Disney World, Florida, opened in 1971, almost two decades after Disneyland was opened and five years after Walt Disney’s death. This park contains an elaborate tunnel system underneath the park to be used by staff members to put on their costumes and appear in locations without spoiling the illusion.
